Description

Location: Thailand
Three Atlas moths (Attacus atlas) huddled together at a government insect research station along the Thai-Cambodian border.
Atlas moths are very big! They are said to have the largest wing surface area of any moth and are named atlas because their wing patterns resemble maps. The wing tips look like snake's heads, to scare off predators. Only found in Southeast Asia.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention. They are holding onto a cocoon!
